Overview

Next-generation DMR portable radio: 29.5 mm thin, 310 g, 2.4-inch colour display, 2400 mAh Li-polymer battery for a 24 h shift at high transmit power, AI-based noise cancellation, IP68 and MIL-STD-810 G ruggedness, GNSS (GPS/GLONASS/BDS), Bluetooth 5.0 and Micro SD recording. Supports digital conventional, analog conventional and digital trunking modes.

The radio is presented as FAAB's brand-new professional digital radio, developed from feedback across the customer eco-system and intended to refresh the standard for digital portables. Mechanically it is optimised around a compact lithium-polymer battery, giving 29.5 mm thickness and 310 g while still delivering a 24-hour shift at a 5/5/90 duty cycle on high transmit power.

Audio uses a forward-facing speaker with AI-based noise cancellation to suppress background noise and howling, plus water-porting to drain the speaker cavity. The 2.4-inch colour display carries a new UI with a Quick Access Menu, conversation-style message listing and an Interface Switcher that lets a programmable button cycle between up to four frequently used interfaces.

High receiver sensitivity and high transmit power extend the talk range, reducing network cost. Ruggedness is MIL-STD-810 G, IP68, submersible to 2 m for 4 hours and resilient to 2 m drops onto concrete.

Security spans air-interface encryption, end-to-end encryption, scrambler, authentication and remote disable/enable.

Equip public-safety, utility and industrial field officers with a rugged, all-day, high-audio DMR portable that carries data services, GNSS location and encryption without a network upgrade.

Key features

  • Thinner and lighter — Optimised mechanics + compact Li-polymer battery - 29.5 mm thick, 310 g.
  • Louder and clearer audio — Forward-facing speaker, AI-based noise cancellation, water-porting drainage.
  • Longer battery life — 24 h shift life at 5/5/90 duty cycle on high transmit power.
  • More intuitive and efficient — 2.4-inch colour display, Quick Access Menu, conversation message list, Interface Switcher (up to 4 interfaces).
  • Enhanced coverage — High receiver sensitivity and high transmit power stretch the talk range and reduce network cost.
  • Higher level of ruggedness — MIL-STD-810 G, IP68, 2 m submersion for 4 h, 2 m drop onto concrete.

Where it operates

  • Digital conventional / analog conventional operation — Mixed fleets on either mode, with 2-tone signalling and HDC1200 in analog mode.
  • Digital trunking — Trunked digital operation for larger managed networks.
  • Lone worker / man down safety — Emergency, Man Down, Lone Worker and Authentication safety services.
  • Location tracking — High-efficiency GNSS (GPS, GLONASS, BDS) with <5 m horizontal accuracy.
